Rehino Remiticado

Rehino Remiticado, 85, of Hilo died March 11, 2017, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Sept. 6, 1931, in Puunene, Maui, he was a pastor and worked in Kwajalein and was an Army veteran.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 13 at the Lanai Veteran Cemetery. Condolences may be posted at homelanimemorialpark.com.

He is survived by brother, Tony Remiticado of Honolulu; sister, Juanita Vergara of Torrance, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Hua

Kenneth Ray Hua, 54, of Hilo died March 25, 2017, at his residence in Hilo. Born Aug. 10, 1962, in Tacoma, Wash., he was an accountant and auto mechanic.

Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. April 14 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel in Hilo with a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. at the Alae Cemetery in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by wife, Princess Keliipaakaua-Hua of Hilo; sons, Owen Yoshishige, Thomas Yoshishige, Kalani Keliipaakaua, all of Hilo; daughters, Yvonne Yoshishige, Amy Hua-Yoshishige, Kehaulani Keliipaakaua, Mahealani Keliipaakaua, all of Hilo; mother, Coye Jane Holden of Ocean View; sisters, Melissa-Ann Waite-Crawford of Honaunau and Debra Hua of Ocean View; brother, George Hua Jr. of the mainland; two grandsons; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Rose Henriques

Rose Loke Henriques, 75, of Kailua-Kona died March 19, 2017, at her residence. Born Jan. 10, 1942, in Kealakekua, she was a room maid at the Hotel King Kamehameha, Kona Hukilau and Kona Inn hotels, and Casa De Emdeko. She was a member of ILWU Local 4 and New Hope Legacy Church.

Visitation is at 8 a.m. April 15 in the Kealakehe High School cafeteria, with a 10 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and flowers be omitted.

She is survived by son, Allan (Leilani Campbell) Henriques of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Maria Kihe and Josephine Anakalea, both of Kailua-Kona; one granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Crispina Palacio

Crispina Imperio Palacio, 93, of Paauilo died March 18, 2017, at her residence. Born Nov. 27, 1923, in Sinaet City, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, she was a retired custodian at Paauilo School and a of member New Hope of Hilo and Waimea and also member of the St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Paauilo.

Friends may call for visitation from 9-10:30 a.m. April 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo with a 10:30 a.m. service. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed. Burial at Alae Cemetery, Section J.

She is survived by son, Jaime Yagin and Veny (Gayle) Yagin of Hilo, Eddie (Doreen) Yagin of Honolulu; daughters, Mildred Yagin and Juanita (Victor) Wusstig of Paauilo, Erlinda Reynolds of Hilo, 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Alejo (Esperanza) Imperio of Paauilo; sister, Magdalena (Lito) Ramos of Waipahu, Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jacqueline Pung

Jacqueline “Jackie” Nolte Liwai Pung, also known as Hawaii’s First Lady of Golf, of Waikoloa died March 15, 2017, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born Dec. 13, 1921, in Honolulu, she was the first woman professional golfer from Hawaii and later became golf instructor for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. She co-designed and opened the Waikoloa Village Golf Course and was a member Hawaiian Girls Golf Club.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. April 22 at St. James Episcopal Church in Waimea with a 10 a.m. service. Family requests aloha attire be worn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, HI 96745. Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Barnette Fischer, P.O. Box 383333, Waikoloa, HI 96738.

She is survived by daughter, Barnette (Bruce) Fischer of Waikoloa; sister, Audrey Hong of Honolulu; brother, John Liwai of Waikoloa; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Gilbert Lutz

Gilbert Adell Lutz, 73, of Kurtistown died March 19, 2017, in Kurtistown. Born in Michigan, he was a professional photographer.
