Big Island police have located a 22-year-old Hilo man initially wanted for bail jumping. Austin Juanito Fernandez was last seen leaving the Hawaii Community Correctional Center at 8 p.m. Thursday. He failed to return to the correctional center later that day as ordered by the court.

Early Sunday morning, just after 4:00 a.m., Hilo patrol officers found Fernandez on the side of the road fronting a residence on Ahuna Road. He was taken into custody without incident.

Just before noon, he was charged with revocation of supervised release under the strength of a recently issued bench warrant. He is being held without bail at the Hilo cellblock pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Tuesday.
