Kawenalanionapua Poli’ahu Low-Hopeau
Kawenalanionapua “Kawena” “Wena” Poli’ahu Low-Hopeau, 3, of Hilo, died on March 7, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born on Jan. 27, 2014, in Hilo.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. March 23 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m.; private burial will be held at a later date. Aloha attire.
She is survived by mothers, Britney and Dixie Low-Hopeau; sisters, Tyrayjah Torres and Josydean Low-Hopeau; grandparents, Lorna Hopeau, Lordel Kapika, and Dollymae Mawae and Robert Low, Sr.; great-grandparents, Ruby Low and Joseph Mawae, Sr. and Evelyn and Jesse Ontiveros; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.

Joey Yap
Mr. Joey Kolekona Yap, 37, of Kailua-Kona, died March 5, 2017, at Kona Community Hospital. Born on July 23, 1979, in Honolulu, he was an airline transporter.
A celebration of life will be held from noon to 5 p.m. March 26 at Pahoehoe Beach Park next to Magic Sands in Kailua-Kona. The family requests casual attire and flowers be omitted.
He is survived by his mother, Cande Yap of Kaiua-Kona; father, Gordon (Johanna Guth) Yap of Honolulu; sister, Sasha Keohokapu of Kailua-Kona; paternal grandmother, Juanita Yap of Maui; maternal grandfather, Hideo Toyama of Las Vegas; five uncles; a niece, and numerous cousins. Rowena Inaba
Rowena Hanako Inaba, 64, of Holualoa died March 2, 2017, at her residence. Born in Kealakekua, on Sept. 12, 1952, she was a court clerk. She was a member of Daifukuji Soto Mission and various bowling clubs in Kona.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. March 26 at Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo for a 3 p.m. memorial service. The family requests casual attire and flowers be omitted.
She is survived by her companion, Michael Patten of Holualoa; mother, Yayoko Inaba of Holualoa; brother, Don (Kawehi) Inaba of Kohanaiki; sisters, Georgene (Al Burkart) Inaba of Portland, Ore., and Ann Inaba of Holualoa; several aunts and uncles; a niece, two nephews, numerous cousins.

Robert Main
Robert (Bob), (R.D.) Donald Main died at the Queen’s Medical Center March 6, 2017, in Honolulu. He was born on April 25, 1937, in Hilo and lived in Holualoa and Honolulu.
Funeral services will be March 27 with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and services at 10:30 a.m. at Mililani Memorial Park, Mauka Chapel, Oahu. Burial services are 10 a.m. March 29 at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, 45-349 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Oahu.
Ronald Brinkman
Ronald Henry Brinkman, 72, of Naalehu died Feb. 26, 2017, at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born July 27, 1944, in West Branch, Mich., he was a self employed construction contractor and the owner of the Woodrose Coffee Shop. He was a member of Operator Engineers and an Army veteran.
Private services were held.
He is survived by wife, Charito McFadden of Naalehu; stepson, David (Sarah) McFadden of Naalehu; stepdaughter, Deana (Nate McCasland) McFadden of Naalehu; sister, Darlene Girolamo of Minnesota; half brothers, Paul Brinkman, Daryl Brinkman, Henry (Charlotte) Brinkman, and Howard Brinkman, all of Alaska; four stepbrothers; two granddaughters; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tomoaki Yoshina
Tomoaki “Tom” Yoshina, 82, of Hilo, died Feb. 6, 2017, at his home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired general contractor for S. Yoshina Contracting and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Operating Engineers Local 3.
Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.
He is survived by wife, Fumiko Yoshina of Hilo; daughter, Valerie Yoshina of Hilo; sisters, Shigeko (Daniel) Uekawa and Jane (Roy) Nagata of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.
