KAILUA-KONA — More than 50 people turned out for Kona Beth Shalom’s Purim Party held Sunday at Hawaiian Queen Coffee Garden.
The event featured music, songs, dancing, Purim Shpiel (play), homemade hamentaschen and a children’s costume parade and games.
Purim, a Jewish holiday, celebrates how Queen Esther saved the Jews of Ancient Persia from destruction by the wicked Haman.
