Kona Interfaith Meditation Society meets
All are invited to the Kona Interfaith Meditation Society meeting Monday.
This month’s program continues with part two of the James Finley video presentation on “Following the Mystics Through the Narrow Gate,” that gate being the inner gate of the heart opening to divine love.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at Hawaiian Queen Coffee Garden, 75-1048 Henry St. It includes time for discussion, a period of meditative silence and refreshments.

Painted Trees of Hawaii topic at library
Kelly Dunn will talk about Painted Trees of Hawaii from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Kailua-Kona Public Library. Dunn will also touch on photography, inspirations, life and the arts.
Attendees will receive a free autographed photo card. The presentation is appropriate for all ages.
Senior Roundtable Hui discusses grief
The Senior Roundtable Hui is held on the first Tuesday of each month. This Tuesday, the topic will be, “Getting Through Grief.” How do we handle unexpected disappointment, or loss of a loved one? What coping mechanisms do we use?
The interactive meeting is from 1:30-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Pink Mocha Café mauka of Home Depot. There is no charge for the meeting other than if purchasing a coffee of tea. Parking is easy access and free.

Yamaguchi makes college dean’s list
Evyn Yamaguchi of Honaunau made the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Mayville State University, in Mayville, North Dakota. In order to be named to the dean’s list, a student must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 graded credit hours.
