Nicole Kahoopii
Nicole Nohealani Kahoopii, 21, of Pahoa died Dec. 15, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born July 8, 1995, she was a student at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and Linfield College, a member of the National Honor Society.
A candlelight vigil will be held at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 6 at Liliuokalani Park. A celebration of life will take place at noon Jan. 8 at Aunty Sally Kaleohano’s Luau Hale. No flowers.
She is survived by mother, Gail Kahoopii of Pahoa; sister, Michelle (Robert) DeSoto of Kaneohe, Oahu; fiancé, Sean Quinlan of Waimea; four nephews; one niece.

Frank Genescritti Sr.
Frank Louis Genescritti, Sr., 81, of Kailua-Kona and also of Portola, Calif., died Jan. 3, 2017, at his Kailua-Kona residence. Born June 21, 1935, in Chicago, he was a retired roofing estimator and a Navy veteran.

He is survived by wife, Patricia Genescritti, son, Frank (Cheryl) Genescritti Jr.; daughters, Judy Genescritti, all of Kailua-Kona, Barbara (Peter) Pope; sisters, Helen Genescritti, Joanne Genescritti, Bernice Thurston, Joyce Bohn, all of Reno, Nev.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Blossom Jamison
Blossom Pualani Leong Jamison, 89, of Waimea died Dec. 11, 2016, at home. Born in Hookena, she was a retired picker international office manager and longtime member of the Hawaiian Girls Golf Club and the Moanalua Golf Course.
Visitation is at 8 a.m. Jan. 21, 2017, at Diamond Head Memorial Park Chapel in Honolulu with a 9:30 a.m. service. Inurnment will follow luncheon. Aloha attire; flowers welcome.
She is survived by sons, Alika (Luana) Lincoln of Waimea, George (Kristy) Lincoln of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother, Royal (Leilani) Leong of Honolulu; five grandchildren; seven great-grandsons; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Helene Ikeda
Helene Yoshimi Saruwatari Ikeda, 90, of Hilo died Dec. 26, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hakalau, she was retired from the former MJS Music Store and a member of New Hope Hilo Hawaii and Kaumana Rise Association.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Jan. 13 at New Hope Hilo Hawaii, 840 Kupulau Road, for a 10 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.
She is survived by daughter, Renee Wolfgang of Oak Harbor, Wash.; sons, Miles (Lisa) Ikeda and Eric Tamashiro of Honolulu; siblings, Jane Hata, George (Dorothy) Hirowatari, Asako Shitabata; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Herbert Ah Ching
Herbert Ah Ching, 87, of Hilo died Dec. 30, 2016, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Ookala, he was retired and a Army veteran of the Korean War.
Private services were held.
He is survived by sister, Patricia Ah Ching Parker of Puna; numerous nieces and nephews.
