Abelardo Bulosan
Abelardo “Abe” Vicente Bulosan, 83, of Pahoa died Dec. 12, 2016, at home. Born Nov. 25, 1933, in Pahoa, he was a retired heavy equipment operator for Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corp. and a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War Veteran. He was also a member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held from 8:30-10 a.m. Jan. 6 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo with a 10 a.m. prayer service. Burial will be at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No 2. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Catalina Bulosan of Pahoa; son, Christopher Lee Bulosan of Pahoa; two grandchildren; sister, Angela (Adriano) Castro of Wahiawa, Oahu; brother, Basilio (Marcy) Bulosan of Pahoa; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ollie Fulks
Ollie “Ole” Leland Fulks, 72, of Keaau died Dec. 3, 2016, at the Pohai Malama. Born Oct. 10, 1944, in Los Angeles, he was a beekeeper, organic farmer, spelunker, carpenter, poet, and peace activist.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 28 at Kolekole Beach Park. Attendees should wear casual attire and bring a dish to share during the potluck.
He is survived by nieces, Tania Fulks of Waipahu, Oahu, Teresa Slone, Shantel Obadencio, both of Hawaii; nephews, Reuben Fulks of Maui and Maceo Fulks of Honolulu.
Paulette Kepa
Paulette Marie Kepa, 65, of Hawaiian Beaches died Dec. 22, 2016, at her residence. Born in Hilo, she was a retired emergency room clerk at the Hilo Medical Center and a member of Pacific Baptist Church.
Friends may call from 1–2 p.m. Dec. 27 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 2 p.m. funeral service. Cremation will follow. Casual attire.
She is survived by husband, John Kepa of Hawaiian Beaches; daughters, Windy La Brie of Wisconsin, Misty La Brie of Ookala; sons, Colby (Kauanoe) La Brie of Hilo, Dusty (Briana) La Brie of Nevada; brothers, John (Joyce) DeCoito Jr. of Hawaiian Beaches, Patrick (Charlotte) DeCoito of Hilo, George (Christy) DeCoito of Hilo, Russell (Toshiko) DeCoito of Kona; sister, Janet Chavaries of Hilo; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jean Kunimura
Jean Fusae Kunimura, 94, of Holualoa died Nov. 27, 2016, at her family’s residence. Born Sept. 10, 1922, in Koloa, Kauai, she was a retired seamstress for the former Coco Palms Hotel, a coffee picker, supporter and volunteer at the Kahakai Elementary School, a volunteer at the University of Hawaii Extension and a member of the Kona Daifukuji Orchid Club.
Visitation will be held at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo with a 3:30 p.m. memorial service.
She is survived by daughter, Jessica (Wilfred) Yamasawa of Holualoa; son, Jon Kunimura of Holualoa; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Migdonio Ramones
Migdonio “Jojo” Ramones, 59, of Hilo died Dec. 22, 20116, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte Philippines, he was employed at Puna Certified Nursery and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Friends may call 9–11 a.m. Dec. 28 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; prayer service at 11. Friends may call again 9-10 a.m. Dec. 29 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; funeral Mass at 10. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.
He is survived by wife, Merlina Ramones of Keaau; daughters, Jocelyn (Joel Jauculan) Ramones of Keaau, Jovelyn Ramones of Keaau; sons, Joseph (Rosevilla) Ramones of Keaau, Jack Umayas of Keaau; brother, Leonardo (Juanita) Ramones of Hilo; sisters, Victorina (Warlito) Vea of Pepeekeo, Irene Ramones of Keaau, Perlita (Marino) Vea of Hilo, Lynn Ramones of Hilo; four grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Leonora Madamba
Leonora “Orang” Calpo Madamba, 89, of Pahoa died Dec. 10, 2016, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Jan, 22, 1927, in Pasuquin, Carusipan, Philippines, she formerly worked at Puna Flowers in Keaau, was a member of the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Dec. 29 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo with a 7 p.m. wake service. An all-night vigil will follow after 9 p.m. at the family residence in Pahoa. Visitation will also be held from 8-10 a.m. Dec. 30 at the Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a 10 a.m. Mass, followed by burial at the Pahoa Catholic Church Cemetery. Casual attire and flowers are welcome.
She is survived by sons, Juanito (Milagros) Madamba Felicidad (Concepcion) Madamba, Don (Remedios) Madamba, Joveno (Josie) Madamba, Ignacio (Tina) Madamba, all of Pahoa, Dencio (Esmenia) Madamba of Long Beach, Calif., Santiago (Milagros) Madamba of Hawaiian Beaches; daughters, Leticia (Regino) Dalmacio of Pahoa, Susan (Bannie) Tasani of Maui; 24 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother, Vicente Calpo of Philippines; sister, Emiteria (Teriang) Calpo of Philippines; numerous, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Francis Hiro Kaneshiro, 74, of Waimea, died Dec. 20, 2016, at his residence. Born April 30, 1942, in Honolulu, he was the owner of Menehune Maid in Honolulu and a U.S. Army veteran.
Private service to be held. Memorial donations may be sent to North Hawaii Hospice or Punahou School.
He is survived by companion, Constance Hastert of Waimea; daughter, Laura Steffen-Westerbeck of Washington; sister, Patricia Hansen of Honolulu.

Larry Kiyotsuka
Larry Sakae Kiyotsuka, 75, of Hilo died Dec. 11, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired manager with the Honolulu Painting Co. in Hilo and an Army veteran.

He is survived by wife, Eulanda Kiyotsuka of Hilo; son, Paul (Raelyn) Kiyotsuka of Hilo; stepdaughter, Fay (Felix) Nosaka of Keaau; brothers, Roy (Teru Amy) Kiyotsuka of Hilo, Kenneth (Diane) Kiyotsuka of Hilo, and Clarence (Katy) Kiyotsuka of Honolulu; sister, Florence Hensen, Honolulu; two grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.
