Blind and low vision support group hosts social hour
The National Federation of the Blind West Hawaii Chapter will host a meet and greet social at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Hale Halawai on Alii Drive.
The group welcomes those who are experiencing vision loss or care for someone who is.

Learn about education opportunities at Palamanui
Carrie Kuwada Phipps, Educational Specialist for the University Center, West Hawaii at Palamanui will showcase new, upcoming and current programs offered through the campus. This includes certificates, associate and bachelor’s degrees, post-graduate certificates, master’s and doctorate degrees, and non-credit offerings.
The workshops are scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Kailua-Kona Public Library.
Phipps will also discuss upcoming workshops and informational sessions that are open to the community and provide on-site help with the online application process for the spring semester. The deadline to apply for the spring semester is Dec. 15.

HCCN starts caregivers sharing group
Hawaii Community Caregiver Network is launching a family caregiver sharing group from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Regency at Hualalai, 75-18 Hualalai Road., Kailua-Kona. The purpose is to provide a forum for family caregivers to share their stories, seek information about community resources and find support among other caregivers. A needs assessment will be conducted at this first meeting to determine future topics and guest speakers. There is no charge to attend, however, seating is limited.

New travel conversation club
at Kona library
From 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, the “Not-Just-a-Bookclub Travel Conversation Club” holds its first get together. The group offers opportunity to share travel experience and gain new ideas, enjoy friendly conversation, share itineraries and favorite travel books.
