History show spot on

Naleo TV has recently begun broadcasting a program called the History of HEPA (Hawaii Emergency Physicians Associated). HEPA was founded in 1971 by Dr. Bernie Scherman of Oahu, the late Dr. Paul Pfeiffer, and me.

We started at Kahuku Hospital then were asked to cover Castle, Wahiawa, and Hilo. I worked the first Hilo shift in October of 1972. I was telling Stacy Higa, president and CEO of Naleo TV, about how it started and he asked if Dr. Scherman and I would tell the story for Naleo to broadcast. It was an honor and refreshing to know that our local television station would be interested in the history of emergency care on Hawaii Island and around the state. The staff at Naleo did a fantastic job of editing our interviews and organizing the material in such a professional manner. Many thanks to Naleo and Mr. Higa.
