Free Medicare basics seminar coming up
Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union will host Medicare 101 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday in the John Y. Iwane Credit Union Center Training Room at its Kaloko facility, 73-5611 Olowalu St.
Peter Amelotte, health benefits manager with Aloha Insurance Services, Inc. will discuss:
• How old do I have to be to enroll in Medicare?
• What are my Medicare health plan options?
• Can I have other insurance and still have Medicare?
• What’s the difference between Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B?
• Is prescription drug coverage required?

Giving Tree celebration Sunday in Waimea
Parker Ranch Center’s Big Island Giving Tree celebration is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Fireside Food Court.
Donations to the Big Island Giving Tree will be accepted. Gift cards or monetary donations are preferred.
Santa will be there to take pictures with keiki. Donations for photos may be made to the Waimea Lions and North Hawaii Hospice.
The HPA handbell choir will perform from 11-11:45 a.m., the Waikoloa Community Church Keiki Choir will sing from noon to 12:30 p.m. Taiko drummers will perform from 1:30-2, Youth Rock from Solid Rock North Church will play from 2-2:30 and Te Ea O Te Turama Tahitian Dancers are on from 2:30-3 p.m.

The Senior Roundtable Hui to discuss pets
The Senior Roundtable Hui will meet from 1:30-3 p.m. Tuesday at Pink Mocha Cafe, just mauka of Home Depot.
The topic will be, “Our Pets and Aging Well.” Attendees will discuss the pros and cons of pet ownership and explore the question, “Do we need dog parks?”
The format is interactive and all age groups are invited. The group meets monthly to discuss an aging topic. There is no charge for the meeting other than if purchasing a coffee of tea. Parking is easy access and free.
