The suspect was arrested Saturday after an hours-long standoff with law enforcement, reported KHON-TV. He’s being held on $1 million bail on suspicion of murder.
Police responding to reports of shots fired Wednesday arrived at the game room to find a 24-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
Police said the gunman and the victim had a dispute over money before the shots were fired.
The suspect fled the scene.
He was confronted and taken into custody days later at an apartment complex by police and U.S. marshals, who had evacuated some of the housing units while they negotiated with the suspect to come out and surrender.
“This building was surrounded, no way he was gonna get out,” said resident Shellford Cantan.
Wednesday’s shooting marks the second deadly incident involving an apparent gaming operation this year. The other case came in September, when police say Tara Tevaga, 49, was shot in the chest inside Cutie’s Cafe in Chinatown during a robbery. A 30-year-old man is in custody pending trial on charges of manslaughter, attempted murder, robbery and firearms offenses in Tevaga’s death.
