Give Trump a chance
Give Trump a chance
One of the questions we now ask is can Trump make a difference? Can he restore good-paying jobs to a country that needs them? This simple question is interesting and for millions of us, the answer is yes! Is Trump a magic bullet? Not likely — it will take time and some hard work to undo the damage Democrats and liberals have done to our country.
When people find the need to wear “safety pins” and find “quiet zones,” it should be a sign that we have finally arrived at the bottom of the pit!
Violence and destruction to protest the legitimate election of our president puts us in the same category as many Third World countries (of course, Hawaii is often looked upon as just that) and people should be embarrassed with what they are showing the world we have lowered ourselves to.
We continue see WHT publishing piece after piece from people so afraid, crying, bashing and insulting Trump as they are screaming gloom and doom because he was elected. Perhaps all of you screamers should zip it and remember that you put him in our highest office! As stated before, we have reached the bottom of the pit, in great part, thanks to our shift from simple Christian beliefs to the desire to be politically correct, no matter how much it hurts.
When Obama was elected, many of us predicted that he would be a worthless figure head, elected only because he was black, not because he had any real skills to bring to the office. We were right and history (if not written by a liberal) will prove it!
We almost elected a totally corrupt woman because of her sex and the idea that some had that we needed a woman president. It so happens I and millions more agree, but find a woman with integrity that will bring some respect to the office and make America proud, there are many out there, the time is almost right!
Of all the 50 states, Hawaii has her place as being one of the most beautiful and sorely impoverished. Homeless people, poor people, food stamps and government assistance to survive day to day. We thank our Democrats and those who continue to elect them for their tax and spend policies that have put us where we are. Trump might not be able to help us with this but he should inspire us and show us that we are not quite as helpless as we seem. Remember this the next time you vote!

Another sign needs correcting
I appreciated seeing your article noting that corrected traffic signage is in place at the Captain Cook turnoff.
How about the signs which are on south or southwest bound Henry Street, just before it intersects Kuakini Highway?
First, about 40 feet prior to the intersection, you have the correct sign which shows two left turning and one turning lane.
At about 10 feet before the intersection, you have a sign that suggests two lanes of traffic should go straight. That would mean driving directly into the shopping plaza on the south side of Kuakini Highway.
Really? We are supposed to go straight when there is no road and no driveway? Please call the appropriate road department.
Thanks,
