Albert Kita
Albert Mitsuo Kita, 77, of Hawi died Nov. 4, 2016, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born May 3, 1939, in North Kohala, he was a retired landscaper for Mauna Lani Resort, a plantation worker for the former Kohala Plantation, a member of Kohala Gospel of Salvation, a U.S. Army veteran and an Army National Guardsman.

Dorothy “Dot” Jane Kita, 83, of Hawi died Nov. 4, 2016, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Sept. 21, 1933, in Waimea, Kauai, she was a homemaker, former pantry worker for Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, housekeeper and landscaper for Hyatt Regency Waikoloa, a Kawaihae harbor security guard and a former plantation worker for Kohala Plantation. She was also a member of Kohala Gospel of Salvation.

Henry “Hank” “Honey Boy” Akana Jr., 76 of Kapolei, Oahu died on Nov. 5, 2016, in Ewa Beach, Oahu. Born June 21, 1940, in North Kohala, he was retired from First Hawaiian Bank.
Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 2 at St. Jude Church, 92-455 Makakilo Drive, in Makakilo, Oahu. Memorial Mass will be at 10:30 a.m and inurnment will follow at 2 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Flowers welcomed.
He is survived by wife, Peggy Akana; sons, Loren (Diane) Akana Bryne Dolor; daughters, Lisa (Elsworth Emeliano) Carvalho, Lynette Akana, Denise (Santos) Dicho; sister, Olivia Teramoto; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
Charles Gallagher
Charles “Chuck” William Gallagher, 82, of Hilo died Nov. 20, 2016, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born July 18, 1934, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a boat builder.
The family will spread his ashes during the first week of December in the waters of Hilo.
He is survived by daughters, Karen Gallagher and Kristina Marquez, both of Haleiwa, Oahu; son, Keith Gallagher of Haleiwa, Oahu; companion, Theodora Mukai of Hilo; one granddaughter.
