Barbara L. Quinlan, 86, formerly of Ocean View died Nov. 8, 2016, in Durango, Colo.
Born June 26, 1930, in China and raised in Hawaii, she was an educator and librarian.
Donations may be made in her name to a charity of choice.
She is survived by daughter, Anne (Quinlan) Stueck of Stoughton, Mass.; sons, Steve Quinlan of Durango, Colo.; Pete Quinlan of Victor, Idaho; two granddaughters.
Mildred Benevides
Mildred Marie Benevides, 86, of Volcano died Sept. 30, 2016, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Aug. 26, 1930, in Papaikou, she was a retired custodian for Hilo Union School.
Private services were held.
She is survived by daughter, Betty (Jerry) Crivello of Volcano; son, Gilbert (Donna) Benevides of Hilo; brother, Eugene Tavares of Haina, Honokaa; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janie Hashimoto
Janie Masayo Hashimoto, 59, of Hilo died Oct. 6, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was retired from Hilo Medical Center.
Private services were held. Scattering of ashes at a later date. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
She is survived by husband, Jason Akio Hashimoto of Hilo; father, Leslie Tanimoto of Hilo; sisters, LTC Laura Wheeler of Virginia, Rebekah (Yeung) Lam of Los Angeles; aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins.

LaDonna Kelly
LaDonna “Donna” Marie Kelly, 71, of Mountain View died Nov. 10, 2016, at her residence. Born July 27, 1945, in Minneapolis, she was a retired customer service representative and a member of the Puna Covenant Church in Keaau.

She is survived by spouse, Mike Kelly of Mountain View; daughters, Heather (Tom) Knudson, Denise (Jason) Schillewaert, all of Princeton, Minn; brothers, Marlin (Bernice) Schroeder, Sheldon (Anne) Schroeder, all of Minnesota; stepmother, Edna Schroeder of Webster, Wis.; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Emiko Kishimori, 78, of Hilo died Oct. 6, 2016, in a private care home in Hilo. Born Oct. 20, 1937, in Kapoho, she a retired Registered Nurse at the Hilo Hospital.

She is survived by sons, Kevin (Cheryl) Kishimori of Honolulu, Kurt (Sandee) Kishimori of Hilo; brother, Kenneth (Edna) Namba of Pearl City, Oahu; sisters, Betty Namba of Mililani, Oahu; Carol McClinton of Honolulu; two grandsons; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
