Aloha Performing Arts Company has announced the cast for “Christmas on Broadway,” a heartwarming, whimsical new musical revue by Rick Lewis.

Lewis spent a year and a half compiling and designing this show, which combines the pizzazz of Broadway and the magic of Christmas, for its world premiere in Portland, Oregon. APAC’s production is the Hawaii premiere with performances at the Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu from Dec. 2-18, 2016. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2:30 p.m.

Kaitlin Moore portrays the irreverent tour guide who leads a quartet of stranded tourists through an empty Broadway theater on Christmas Eve. The second female lead is played by Alana Baxter, who, along with Moore, recently appeared in “Plan 9 from Outer Space.” Jaquelynn Collier, a Kailua-Kona native who now calls New York City home, is the third female lead. An award-winning off-Broadway actress, Collier will return to the Big Apple after the holidays.

The male leads are played by Bryan Riley and Brett McCardle. Riley has appeared in APAC’s “The Wizard of Oz” and “My Son Pinocchio,” as the Scarecrow and Gepetto, respectively. McCardle, a recent arrival from Kentucky, will exercise his comedic skills in this show.

In addition to the adults, “Christmas on Broadway” features a youth choir with children from age 6-14, who hail from as far south as Ocean View and as far north as Kona Palisades. Kids in the choir are Alessa Stephens, Alexa Solomonson, Caiden Mireles, Country Denis, Kristen White, Leilani Penaloza, Lola DeMotte, Noelani Loughery-Kawailoa and Olive Schaal-Girouard. Kira Kane is featured as the teen soloist.

Engela Edwards, adviser to APAC’s Aloha Teen Theatre, is directing, assisted by Wendy Buzby. Megan Hodge is music director. In addition to performing in the show, Collier is the choreographer and Moore is the costume, hair and makeup designer. Youth hair and makeup will be done by Kristen White and Jane Mireles.

Producers are Jerry Tracy, Sarah Crawford and Rich Mears. Setting design is by Martha Stephens, and prop design by Pamela Hicks, assisted by Vincent Hicks. Stage manager will be Paula Cornwell, assisted by Felicity Johnson. The costume support crew includes Cornwell and Carol Conner. Conner also serves as charitable outreach coordinator. The lighting crew includes Tiffany Kutsunai, Martha Stephens, and Miles Lugo. Sound operator will be Blayne Caravalho, technical director is Rich Bickel, and operations director is Melissa Geiger. Front of house crew includes Sharyn Toyama, Kerry Matsumoto, John Holliday, and Normetta Muir. A live stage band consists of Hodge, Peter Anderegg, and Douglas Locklin.
