Takashi Nonaka
Takashi Nonaka, 91, of Papaikou died Oct. 12, 2016, at home. Born May 8, 1925, in Kaiakea, Ninole, he was a retired manager for Brewer Chemical Laboratory, former chief instructor for Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido/Hawaii Ki Federation in the State of Hawaii, former head instructor for Hilo Ki-Aikido Club, and member of Papaikou Hongwanji Mission Kyodan, Hilo Crescent City Lions Club, and Kumamoto Doshi Kai.
Friends may call at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests appropriate attire (no shorts or slippers) and no monetary gifts or flowers. In his memory, donations can be made to Papaikou Hongwanji Mission (P.O. Box 20, Papaikou, HI 96781) or Hilo Ki-Aikido Club (117 Alapai Place, Hilo, HI 96720).
He is survived by wife, Toyomi Nonaka of Papaikou; son, Eric (Lorene) Nonaka of Mililani, Oahu; daughter, Anne Nonaka of California; hanai daughter, Gayle (Jack) Smoot of California; brothers, Minoru (Grace) Nonaka of Honolulu, Fred (Nancy) Nonaka of Waimea; sisters, Yuriko (George) Minakami, Midori (Richard) Taise, both of Pearl City, Oahu, Lorraine (Asahiko) Wagai of Aiea, Oahu; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles Fleming
Charles “Chuck” Wade Fleming, 77, of Kailua-Kona, died Oct. 20, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born April 10, 1939, in Los Angeles, he was a retired program administrator for the California Department of Rehabilitation and the Employment Development Department.
A celebration of life will be held from 2:30 p.m. until sunset Dec. 10 at Keauhou Canoe Club. Casual attire. Call 326-4708 to RSVP.
He is survived by wife, Maureen Lu of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Mary (Tony Iacopelli) Fleming of Ventura, Calif.; son, Ken (Stacey) Fleming of Pflugerville, Texas; sister, Colleen (Don) Vess of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; one granddaughter; numerous nieces and nephews.

Beverly Byouk
Beverly Ann Byouk, 77, of Ocean View died Oct. 15, 2016, in Ocean View. Born Oct. 10, 1939, in Berkley, Calif., she was a Realtor-Broker and served as a former president of the Kona Board of Realtors, and with the Ka’u Hawaii Civic Club.

Mitsuo Miyashiro
Mitsuo “Mits” Miyashiro, 88, of Pepeekeo, died Oct. 9, 2016, at his home. Born Oct. 11, 1927, in Honohina, he was retired from the former Hakalau Sugar Co.

He is survived by sons, Clayton Miyashiro, Byron Miyashiro, Craig (Ruth) Miyashiro, and Randal Miyashiro of Pepeekeo, Tracy (Laura Tobosa) Miyashiro of Hilo, Darrell (Yvette Hata) Miyashiro of Kurtistown; sister, Yoneko Yagi of Torrance, Calif.; a grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard Risley
Richard Robert Risley, 75, of Pahoa died Oct. 11, 2016, at home. Born in Mitchel Field, N.Y., he was a retired ironworker, a Navy veteran and Ham radio operator. He was also an award-winning member of the California Bowhunters and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Private family services were held.
He is survived by daughter, Bonnie (Dave) Rodriguez of Colorado; sisters, Morgan Sky of Pahoa, Ramona (Leon) Chow of Kapapala Ranch, Ka’u; one grandson; cousins, two nieces and one nephew.
