For nearly four decades and five different presidential administrations, Steve “Mudflap” McGrew has been one of the hardest working stand-up comedians around. He returns to Hawaii for a two-island, three-show comedy tour called “Steve McGrew Hawaiian Comedy Tour.”
McGrew performs at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Hilo Town Tavern and 8 p.m. Nov. 4 at My Bar in Kailua-Kona. He rounds out the tour with a show in Honolulu on Nov. 5.
McGrew has been featured on Comedy Central in his own half hour special. He can be heard on 24/7 Comedy and on Sirius XM radio. He has released several comedy CDs, and is a regular at Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club, The Laugh Factory and Sin City Comedy club in Las Vegas.
His material is drawn from everyday life situations, and is a hybrid of character work, storytelling and one liner jabs to the funny bone. His crossover comedy style appeals to people from all walks of life.
Tickets for the three shows are $20 advance purchase, or $25 at the door. In Kona, tickets can be purchased at My Bar, Oshima Surf, Matsuyama Food Mart or at www.konacomedy.brownpapertickets.com.
