WAIMEA — Teachers can learn new ideas for their classes at this experiential workshop Nov. 4-6 that uses garden-based science lessons and activities to explain NGSS science and engineering practices, crosscutting concepts and disciplinary core ideas.
Located at Malaai: The Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School, the class will relate these three key NGSS dimensions to the Hawaii School Garden Curriculum Map. Participants will apply the three dimensions to design and implement learning-garden science activities.
Two PDE credits will be offered at no additional cost. Contact kohmw@prel.org for more information.
Sponsored by Pacific Resources for Education and Learning (PREL), The Kohala Center and Malaai: The Culinary Garden of Waimea Middle School, the featured facilitator will be Dr. Art Sussman, as well as Amanda Rieux and the Malaai team, Nancy Redfeather and Dr. Koh Ming Wei.
