Richard Danielson

Richard Lawrence Danielson, 69, of Ocean View died Oct. 27, 2014, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Oct. 16, 1945, in Massapequa, N.Y., he was commercial fishing boat builder in Kailua-Kona and a U.S. Army veteran.

Inurnment with military honors will be at noon Oct. 27 at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery in Kailua-Kona.

He is survived by sons, Zachary Danielson of Kailua-Kona, Morgan Montgomery of Lahaina, Maui; sister, Esther (Andy) Danielson-Berger of Norfolk, N.C.; brother, Kenneth Danielson of the mainland; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Theresa Grace

Theresa “Mama T” Grace, 61, of Captain Cook died Oct. 11, 2016, at the Kona Community Hospital. Born May 5, 1955, in Kealakekua, she was a clerk typist at Konawaena Elementary School and had also worked as a school custodian and a security officer for Reynolds Kamakawiwoole. She was a devoted member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at the family’s residence, 81-6308 Mamalahoa Highway in Captain Cook for a 7 p.m. wake service and overnight vigil. Again at 8 a.m. Oct. 29 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Kealakekua for a 10 a.m. Mass and burial to follow at Kona Memorial Park in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcomed.

She is survived by husband, Hano Grace of Captain Cook; sons, Hano Boy (Tiffany) Grace, Preston (Shellie Ann) Grace, both of Captain Cook, Richard (Kaliko) Grace of Kawaihae; daughter, Laressa (Jacob) Medeiros of Kealakekua; father, Richard (Momi) Cordeiro of Oahu; mother, Medinia Ramirez of Captain Cook; brothers, Ryan Cordeiro, Rance Cordeiro, both of Oahu, Henry Cordeiro Jr., of Kailua-Kona, Gordon Cordeiro of Hilo; sisters, Drina (Billy) DeCosta of Kauai, Debra (Keith) Ralston of Oahu, Geraldine (Ronald) Magallanes of Las Vegas, Cheryl (Richard) Ono of Captain Cook, Pearline (Leonard) Yamada of Las Vegas; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kameichi Yawata

Kameichi “Richard” Yawata, 102, of Waimea died Oct. 17, 2016, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born Jan. 25, 1914, in Waialua, Oahu, he was owner of the former Dick’s Wholesale in Honolulu, active member of HooNani Day Center and Kupuna CrossFit AllStar of Waimea.

Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 28 at Oahu Cemetery Chapel for a 10 a.m. service. A luncheon will follow.

He is survived by daughter, Kathleen (Roger) Tanji of Mililani, Oahu; son, Ralph (Priscilla) Yawata of Waimea; sister, Shizue Okouchi of Wahiawa, Oahu; five grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
