YMCA open sailing day set for Oct. 30

Children 7 and up can go for a sail with an instructor/volunteer between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. next Sunday at South Small Boat Harbor in Kawaihae. Students who have completed a YMCA sailing course will be allowed to take boats out on their own. Swimming skills are required by all.

There is no cost, as this is an introductory day for prospective students or a free day for current YMCA sailors.

Life jackets will be provided. Participants must wear swimsuits and bring rash guards, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. YMCA will provide snacks, cold juices and water.

Parking is located at the south end of Pua Ka Ilima Surf Park.
