MAUNA LANI — The Shops at Mauna Lani’s “Uncorked” Food &Wine Festival, set for Nov. 5, will showcase dishes from 13 top Hawaii chefs and a variety of wines from around the world.

Set outdoors, the charity event benefits the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii Island (VASH) and will run from 6-8 p.m.

The non-profit organization assists Hawaii visitors touched by adversity during their stay. VASH specializes in supportive services to help them cope with tragedy, from a lost wallet to a serious medical situation or the death of a loved one.

The “Uncorked” dinner will feature food tastings from the “izakaya-style” menu of Monstera, European flavors of The Blue Room, upscale vegan cuisine from Under the Bodhi Tree, contemporary island style by Tommy Bahama Restaurant &Bar, and the traditional sizzle of Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

Guests will also be able to experience dining from along the Kohala Coast including Brown’s Beach House, CanoeHouse, Mai Grille by Chef Allen Hess, Manta &Pavilion Wine Bar, Roy’s Waikoloa Bar &Grill, Sansei Seafood Steak and Sushi Bar, Daylight Mind Café and the new A-Bay’s Island Grill. Young’s Market and Southern Wine and Spirits will present spirits and wines, while Juice 101 provides nonalcoholic libations.

A silent auction will be held the night of the event. As a special bonus, ticket holders will receive great offers from participating stores and restaurants at The Shops at Mauna Lani on the night of the event with a “VIP Shopping &Dining Discount Card” valued at over $100 for future visits.

A highlight of this year’s festival will be “Mele’uhane,” the melodic collaboration of Keikilani Lindsey and son Leokani, fifth and sixth-generation Hawaiian musicians and storytellers, often invited to play with John Cruz, Henry Kapono and other Hawaiian music stars.

Tickets are $60 in advance or $80 on the day of the event, and can be purchased at The Fine Hawaiian Gift Gallery at The Shops at Mauna Lani or online at www.UncorkedML.bpt.me.
