WAIMEA — Decked out in their best lederhosen and dirndl, Rotary Club of North Hawaii members will host the 16th annual Oktoberfest next Friday night from 5-8 p.m. at Pukalani Stables in Waimea. All net proceeds will benefit North Hawaii youth scholarships and community grants.

WAIMEA — Decked out in their best lederhosen and dirndl, Rotary Club of North Hawaii members will host the 16th annual Oktoberfest next Friday night from 5-8 p.m. at Pukalani Stables in Waimea. All net proceeds will benefit North Hawaii youth scholarships and community grants.

Entertainment will be provided by Honokaa Jazz Band, Cirque Ohana and Doug Johnson &The Waimea Wranglers. Longtime Rotary Club member Nancy Stephenson will play the accordion.

The beer festival will have its own local twist with a variety of food vendors including Red Water Cafe , Sandwich Isle Bread Company, Dan-O’s Donner, Earl’s, Hine Rae’s Cafe, Village Burger, The Fish &The Hog, Coco Lea and KTA Super Stores.

Locally crafted beers from Big Island Brewhaus will be featured, along with wines and spirits from The Johnson Brothers of Hawaii. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided.

The event will include a silent auction in support of Waimea Country School’s Student Financial Aid Fund, and a chicken dance and costume contest. Items featured in the auction can be previewed online at https://waimeacountryschool.org/fundraiser-for-student-financial-aid/.

Tickets in advance are $45, or $50 at the door.

Oktoberfest is Rotary Club of North Hawaii’s largest fundraiser of the year. It is sponsored in part by the UPS Store in Waimea.
