Kona Dance and Performing Arts presents its first full-length production and fundraiser in Kealakekua this weekend with An Evening of Tap Dance and Entertainment.
Over 45 performers in colorful costumes will entertain with tap dance, jazz dance, and musical theatre numbers complete with comedy, singing, acting, and tap improvisation. The show is choreographed by Amanda Trusty. The entire event is a fundraiser for the nonprofit arts organization to continue to offer rich performing arts education to the Kona community.
Sponsored by over 30 Big Island businesses, including the Aloha Performing Arts Company, the show will be an excellent opportunity for families to be introduced to the performing arts community while also enjoying an event with the entire family.
The Saturday show is at 7 p.m. and the Sunday show is at 2 p.m.
Pre-sale tickets are $12 for adults, $7 for keiki, and $10 for groups of 10 or more. Tickets are available at the studio, 81-973 Halekii Street, Kealakekua (across from the Korner Pocket) or online at www.konadanceandperformingarts.org. Seating is limited. ■
