How to Write a Business Plan with Dennis Boyd will be held on Sept. 29 from 5:30—7:30 p.m. Boyd has owned and operated a small business for over 35 years and is director of the West Hawaii Small Business Development Center. This program will assist entrepreneurs and wannabe entrepreneurs in developing a business plan that provides a road map to business success. Topics covered will include important issues to consider in starting a business such as market analysis, marketing, financing, personnel, operations and management.
Yoga Basics is every Monday from 8 to 9 a.m., with Janet Lam. Start your week with a smile, feeling balanced, flexible and strong. Although not specifically a beginner’s class, the movement sequence can easily accommodate students new to yoga or returning to a yoga practice.
Chair Tai Chi–Chi Kung is from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. every Monday with Cathleen Rickard. Enjoy simple, effective hand and leg movements, postures, gentle deep breathing and pressure point techniques while remaining seated in a chair. Tai Chi–Chi Kung movements emphasize flow of internal energy to improve organ function, range of motion, blood pressure balance and over all physical and mental well-being. This class works well for seniors, physically challenged persons and folks recovering from surgeries or living with injuries.
Advanced Ukulele is from 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday with Aunty Marjie Spencer. Join other experienced players of all ages to learn more about the ukulele through friendship and song. Bring your own ukulele, iPAD or laptop, with ForScore or Unreal Book “app” installed to share songs.
Mama-Fit Club is from 9 to 10 a.m. every Wednesday. Join a fun video workout for all levels of fitness, whether preparing the body for pregnancy or trying to get it back afterwards. Keiki can play throughout the workout. The class is open to all women, with or without children. Wear comfortable clothes and exercise shoes. Bring water, a towel, yoga mat and light weights or resistance bands if possible.
