Lily Inouye

Lily Yuriko Inouye, 93, of Hilo died Sept. 7, 2016, at Legacy Hilo Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born June 5, 1923, in Honolulu, she was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Zonta Club of Hilo, Y’s Men and Women’s Club, Hawaii Shima Kumamoto Doshi Kai and Club Wednesday Golf Club.

Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Church of the Holy Cross in Hilo for a 5 p.m. celebration of life. Casual attire is requested. No monetary offerings.

She is survived by sons, Gordon (Mieke) Inouye of Papaikou, Vernon (Lorraine) Inouye of Hilo, Grayson Inouye of Hilo; daughter, Adrianne Lamson of Hilo; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Isaac Kekaulike “Buddy” Kamoku Jr., 62, of Hilo died Sept. 7, 2016. He was a former County of Hawaii lifeguard, policeman, fire rescue specialist and athlete.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. Sept. 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo for a 6 p.m. celebration of life. Casual attire.

He is survived by sisters, Laura Kamoku, Mary Clarke, Patricia Ioane and Coralee Kamoku; brothers, Edward Kamoku, Bill Kamoku and Harold Kamoku; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

Rosaline Gonsalves

Rosaline Mae Gonsalves, 71, of Hilo died Aug. 9, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 1, 1945, in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

Shawn Garett Hughes, 52, of Ainaloa died Aug. 16, 2016, at home. He was born Nov, 22, 1963, in Hilo.

Karin Hanson

Karin Eva Hanson, 76, of Captain Cook died Aug. 25, 2016, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born March 26, 1940, in Germany, she was a cosmetologist.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by brother, Richard (Sonia) Meyers of Munich, Germany; one niece.

Jon-Daniel Sakamoto

Jon-Daniel “JD” Yukito Sakamoto died Aug. 16, 2016. Born April 25, 1988, in Kealakekua, he was a corporate bar trainer and bartender at the Hard Rock Cafe International and a bartender at Soho House West Hollywood, Calif.

Friends may call from 3-7 p.m Sept. 24 at Kona Country Clubhouse for a celebration of life. Casual attire and music are welcome.

He is survived by parents, Eddie and Nancy Sakamoto, sisters, Melanie Ross (Delbert Costa), Lia (Kaanohi) Pea; brother, Brandon Sakamoto (Raquel Perea), maternal grandparents, John (Capt. Jack) Helen Ross, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
