Concert brouhaha boiling over
What started as a silly spat over whose okole was blocking whose view of the concert stage has evolved into much more. Theoriginal premise of my letter was that Ms Coulter was invoking her status as a “gold star wife” as reason not to bereprimanded by concert security. Now, by her own admission, her self-proclaimed “gold star” status is based on herhusband’s work for a defense contractor. By the military’s own definition, gold star family survivors are those of “everyimmediate family member serving in the armed forces of the United States, during any period of war or hostilities in which thearmed forces of the United States were engaged.”
Madam, to call yourself “gold star” to anyone does a great disservice to those families who paid the ultimate price in losing aloved one in armed conflict. I have no doubt your late husband (still blessing him) served his company well to the benefit ofour country. But “gold star? Not even close. Who is coming off as “entitled” now? P.S. I like John McCain.
