Herbert Morimoto
Herbert “Pachuk” Isamu Morimoto, 76, of Puueopaku died Aug. 25, 2016, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born May 9, 1940, in Hilo, he was a retired electrician for American Electric Co., owner of the former Hilo Sporting Goods, a U.S. Army veteran, and member of Papaikou Hongwanji Mission, Hilo AJA Bowling League, Asahi Athletic Club, and Piihonua Kumiai.
Friends may call at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service. Urn committal service is at noon Sept. 19 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2 columbarium. Family requests aloha attire be worn and no flowers.
He is survived by wife, Pat Morimoto of Puueopaku; sons, Sean (Kristy) Sasaki of Honolulu, Troy (Jessica) Morimoto of Las Vegas; sisters, Blanche (Toshio) Goya, Irene Morimoto, both of Honolulu, Wilma Kawasaka of Hilo; five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard Ching Sr.
Richard Yun Hook Ching Sr., 82, of Waipahu, Oahu, died Aug. 6, 2016. Born May 4, 1934, in Kainaliu, he was a retired Kamehameha Schools mechanic and a Hawaii Army National Guard veteran.
Friends may call at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 17 at Nuuanu Memorial Park &Mortuary for an 11 a.m. service. Private inurnment. Casual attire.
He is survived by daughters, Colleen Pascua of Waipahu, Oahu, Bernadine Keliikuli of Mountainview; sons, Raymond, Clarence, Francis, Roland and Ronald, all of Honolulu, Alvin of Minnesota, 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Joycelyn LaFarga
Joycelyn Mary Catalina Iokelani LaFarga, 52, of Laupahoehoe died Aug. 10, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born May 19, 1964, in Hilo, she was a unit secretary at North Hawaii Community Hospital.
A celebration of life will be held at noon Sept. 17 at Laupahoehoe Point Gym. Casual attire. Flowers and lei are welcomed.
She is survived by husband, Artie LaFarga of Laupahoehoe; daughter, Kayla LaFarga of Laupahoehoe; son, Andrew (Karla) LaFarga of Laupahoehoe; father, Adam Cabral of Kapehu; brothers, Adam Wayne Cabral of Wainaku, Neil (Michele) Cabral of Papaaloa, Danny (Danielle) Cabral of Hilo; hanai daughter, Nicole (Brandon) Chong of Waimea; hanai son, John (Karina) Diekmann of Torrance, Calif.; one granddaughter; seven hanai grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Nathan Kauahi Lewis, 71, of Honolulu and also of Hawi died August 13, 2016, in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, he was a a retired Glazier.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 17 at Mahukona Beach Park, North Kohala.
He is survived by wife, Lana Lewis; son, Jory Lewis; stepdaughter, Stacey (Duncan) Matthey; daughter, Kuulei (Olomana) Lewis of Hilo; brothers, Wendell Lewis, Spangler Lewis, both of Oahu; sisters, Nalani (Gradon) Kano, Michelle Lewis, Verda ( Joseph) Moana, Charmaigne (Harlen) Kim, all of Oahu, Renee Logan of Michigan, Liane Humphrey of California; 23 grandchildren, 12 great -grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Natsuko “Judy” Mento, 88, of Paukaa died Aug. 21, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Aug. 20, 1928, in Pepeekeo, she was retired from the former Men’s Shop and a member of Papaikou Hongwanji Mission.
