Overeaters Anonymous is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Friday. OA is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience, strength and hope are recovering from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors. There are no dues or fees and OA welcomes anyone who wishes to stop eating compulsively.
Family Support Group will be offered from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 21, facilitated by Community Children’s Council Parent co-chairs. Parents and caregivers of especially challenging children support each other by sharing successes and challenges. Facilitators provide information on community, state and national resources, and guidance on how best to navigate the systems of care for better outcomes for their child and family.
Chair Yoga is every Friday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. with Michiko Sato. This class is for those who need a gentle and slow yoga-in-a-chair practice. The movements are designed to stretch and strengthen the body without standing or lying on the mat, and may include some easy standing poses behind a chair.
Scrabble Meetup is offered every Friday from 1:30 to 4 p.m., led by Annabel Spielman. Word lovers of every age and skill level are encouraged to play this classic game with relaxed rules; dictionary use permitted. It’s a great way to retain and expand vocabulary, spelling, memory and observation skills in a congenial atmosphere.
