Big, loud motorcycles should scare us all

Big, loud motorcycles should scare us all

Well, so much for a safer place to live. It was with great disappointment that on Sept. 4, I observed something that I hoped I would never see in Hawaii. What is that you ask? Well, folks, I hope you are sitting down, because I can say for a fact it shocked me to the bone.

As I was at the intersection of Palani Street and Kuakini Highway, I watched in horror as five or six extremely loud motorcycles passed by traveling toward Queen Kaahumanu Highway. As I turned to follow the motorcycles in question to confirm what I thought I had seen, they had turned into the gas station and I was able to catch up to them to get a closer look.

It saddens me to say we now have a Hawaii chapter of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, yes, I said Hells Angels, which I had been informed some time ago that they, the Hells Angels, had been advised they were not welcome in Hawaii. I guess that didn’t work.

Well, folks, you might as well get ready for everything that follows this so-called nonviolent, law abiding motorcycle gang, yes, whether they admit it or not, they are a gang! And with them comes drug trafficking, illegal weapons, arson, and more violence than you can shake a stick at.

So I can only suggest that instead of removing all the Hawaiian graffiti, or trying to stop people from collecting aquarium fish, you hop on the bandwagon, and get our elected officials and law enforcement to run these vagrants out of town. Because I can tell you from experience, this issue will only get worse if these people are not removed from this island. If you choose not to heed my warning, just Google Hells Angels, and see just what they are all about.

Security was top notch

I have to take issue with the letter from Ms. Coulter lamenting her interaction with Beach Boys concert security. We were the people you were dancing in front of, blocking our view of the stage and band. We watched as the security guard quietly and firmly informed you that the aisles must remain clear per fire code. I did not see security interact with anyone dancing at their seats (and there were many).

Do I interpret Ms. Coulter’s comments that, as a widow of a fallen hero (God bless him) she is somehow immune to laws that protect us all? That her “federally protected civil rights” had been violated because she couldn’t boogie in the aisles? Come on! Rock responsibly!
