At 10 a.m. this Saturday, Waimea master kapa maker Roen Hufford and lei master Tootsie Weller will lead workshops open to the public at the Waimea Homestead Farmers Market on the Waimea School campus.
Presented in conjunction with Hawaii Island Festival, both will have working kits for those who want to learn how to make kapa and lei hands-on, for a small fee.
Parking is available at the school’s back entry to the school campus, near Kahilu Theatre.
