Paul Kaulo Iopa, Jr., 71, of Hilo, died Aug. 19, 2016, at home. He was born on June 19, 1945, in Hilo. He was the proprietor for P &M Trucking; a truck driver for the former Hilo Coast Processing Company; and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Sept. 9 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Funeral service begins at 6 p.m. A graveside committal service will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 10 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
He is survived by, wife, Mabel Iopa of Hilo; sons, Kaliko (Gina) Iopa of Hilo and Ivan (Kara) Iopa of Hilo; daughter, Sheri (Nelson) Acob of Hilo; brother, Kenneth (Espi) Iopa of Hilo; sisters, Maile (Louis Ui) Zarko of Honolulu, Oahu and Paula Kawaahau of Hilo; grandsons, Jaden Acob of Hilo and Kai Iopa of Hilo; granddaughters, Kealani Iopa of Hilo and Madisen Acob of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ashley Malia Lynn Szewerda, 21, of Mountain View, died Aug. 16, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. She was born Oct. 19, 1994, in Hilo. She was a former sales associate for Icing’s by Claire’s and a UH-Hilo student.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 22 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo. Celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Casual attire.

June Eve Dayoan Gomes, 48, of Mountain View, died Aug. 31, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. She was born on June 30, 1968, in Honolulu. She was a former personal banker for Central Pacific Bank, Hilo Branch.

Sanae Nekonishi
Sanae Nekonishi, 88, of Hilo died Aug. 19, 2016, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Onomea, she was a retired packer for Suisan and Hilo Hawaiian Jelly, member of Hilo Hooganji Mission, Honomu Henjoji Mission and the Kaiwiki Community Association.
Private services were held.
She is survived by daughters, Lynne Lam of Honolulu, Lillian (Benedict) Wong of Honolulu, Joan (Elroy) Chow of Hilo; brother, Tsutomu (Sueko) Omori of Papaikou; sister, Sachiko Matsuzaki of Papaikou; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
