E.K. Fernandez Kona fair canceled
E.K. Fernandez Kona fair canceled
E.K. Fernandez Shows has canceled the Big Island Fair, which was scheduled for Sept. 9-11 in Kona.
The ports at Hilo and Kawaihae were closed Tuesday as Hurricanes Madeline and Lester approached the island so the fair’s equipment could not be shipped to Hawaii Island in time.
The company is not sure whether the Kona fair will be rescheduled this year. Depending on many factors, E. K. Fernandez may bring the event to Kona in October, after it holds the Maui Fair.
E. K. Fernandez plans to operate the Hawaii County Fair, which opens Sept. 22 in Hilo.
