WAIMEA — What does a fearless and fabulous woman really look like? Women across the Big Island are invited to find out, and receive encouragement at the Christian Women’s Gathering’s “Fearless &Fabulous…Putting Feet To Our Faith” luncheon on Sept. 10 at Kahilu Town Hall in Waimea.
The inter-denominational luncheon begins at 11 a.m. and features two guest speakers, a “Thrifty Threads” fashion show, the “Parade of Pairs” Shoe Showoff and lunch catered by the Lilikoi Cafe.
Jana Green returns to the Big Island from Southern California to share how she is able to experience “Peace in the Midst” while fighting a life-threatening illness not once but twice. A gifted prophetic artist, she has served as a prayer minister in her local church, a local community group chaplain and a minister in a women’s federal prison.
Lifelong Waimea resident Margaret Lindsey Tilini, the wife of Pastor Sioni Tilini of New Hope Waimea Christian Fellowship, will share her presentation, “Courageously You” that brings the truth of her near-death experience front and center, and explains how God met her at her most vulnerable moment, giving her the courage to press through even today.
The “Thrifty Threads” Fashion Show will feature examples of trendy yet affordable clothing from Waimea and Kona consignment, thrift and antique stores.
All women are encouraged to participate in the “Parade of Pairs” Shoe Showoff by wearing their most spectacular or unique footwear. Whether stilettos or sandals, pumps or pink tennis shoes, boots or bauble-encrusted slides, the owner of the most impressive pair will win a gift bag of goodies donated by www.TheChristianGirl.net.
Open to the public, the Christian Women’s Gathering (CWG) draws women from across the Big Island, the State of Hawaii and the mainland. The luncheon is $22 per person through Sept. 7, and $30 per person at the door. A percentage of net proceeds will support the iPods For The Elderly program, providing customized music on iPods for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
