Malia Van Heukelem, a preservation management specialist with the University of Hawaii’s Hamilton Library, will discuss cleaning and storing of family photos, documents and heirlooms during this month’s Hanohano O Kona lecture.
Van Heukelem has worked with art and artifacts of all shapes and sizes as collections manager for the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts’ Art in Public Places Program and Iolani Palace, as well as in her current position with UH. Attendees are welcome to bring questions to the “Care of Family Treasures” presentation slated 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at West Hawaii Civic Center in Kailua-Kona.
