Hawaii Craftsmen invites emerging and established artists (members and nonmembers) from across the state to submit up to six artworks to be considered for the 49th Annual Statewide Juried Exhibition.
Artists are encouraged to enter traditional and nontraditional fine crafts, including functional and non-functional 2- and 3-dimensional art in categories of clay, fiber, glass, wood, metal, stone, or combinations of these genre.
Cash awards will be selected by juror Cindi Strauss — the Sara and Bill Morgan Curator of Decorative Arts, Craft and Design and Assistant Director, Programming at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston — and presented at the exhibition opening reception Oct. 25 at the Honolulu Museum of Art School. The show will run through Nov. 13.
All entries must be of original design and created independently within the past two years. Mandatory online registration of completed artworks will open on the web-based system CaFE (www.callforentry.org) Thursday. Registration will close 7 p.m. Oct. 1.

Jurying will not take place until the juror physically sees each piece. Hawaii Island physical jurying of CaFE submitted pieces only is Oct. 17 at Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa with intake from 10 a.m.-noon and jurying from noon-2 p.m. A lecture will take place from 2-2:45 p.m. and art will be available for pickup between 3-4 p.m.
