Aloha Performing Arts Company announces its first-ever workshop series with instructor Alex Iglecia, international speaker and former NASA engineer.
The series is “Confident on Stage” and is designed for actors, speakers, seekers, leaders, mover and shakers of all experience levels. The series will be held 10 a.m.-noon at Aloha Theatre in Kainaliu on Sept. 3, 10, 17, and 24. Tuition is $45 per student.
The challenge to feeling authentic and confident on stage is going beyond just learning lines and practicing for hours and hours. Knowledge never enables one to feel ready when acting only from the head. This class invites participants to enjoy an easy skill-building experience and learn a “Language of Energy” in which the mind and body work together, clearing access to emotions.
Students will learn 16 effective tools from “UZAZU: Mind-Body Method,” including unique practices one can use any time to optimize energy. Iglecia will teach fundamental exercises to connect with the heart without fear, exposing nervousness for what it really is, and what to do about it.
Class size is limited; pre-registration at www.apachawaii.org is recommended. Those who sign up before Aug. 30 will receive a free “Authentic Performance” phone consultation with Iglecia, who has shared the stage with experts on success and “conscious business.”
