Frances Farias
Frances Leon “Sica” Martinez Farias, 94, of Hilo died Aug. 18, 2016, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Facility in Hilo. Born Jan. 7, 1922, in Honomu, she was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Friends may call at 8 a.m. Aug. 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo for a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire and no flowers; burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section)
She is survived by daughter, Theresa Cooper of Maui; sons, Joseph Farias of Teneesse, Patrick Farias of Pepeekeo; brothers, Manuel Martinez of Daleyu City, Calif., Anthony (Daisy) Martinez of Kona, Christopher (Toni) Martinez of Honolulu; sisters, Isabelle Miranda, Rose Garcia, both of Honolulu, Dolores Valenzuela of Los Angeles; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Dinah Kaikuana
Dinah Leone Kaikuana, 79, of Hilo died July 23, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born Jan. 29, 1937, in Papaaloa, she was a Hawaiian language teacher.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Aug. 26 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Casual attire and flowers are welcomed. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Aug. 27 at the East Hawaii Veterans No. 2, Section A.
She is survived by sons, John Makua and Uikirifi Kaikuana, both of Hilo, Charlie (Jessie) Kahepuu of Kauai and H. Nawaii of Honolulu; daughters, Marie (Angelo) Kaikuana of Michigan, Kathy (Robyn) Kaikuana of Waimea, Raquel Kaikuana of Hilo; sisters, Elizabeth Halualani, Katherine Mahi. both of Hilo, Phoebe Hopfe of Oahu; brothers, Jacob Mahi of Oahu, Paul Mahi of Las Vegas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Victor Martin
Victor Shawn Martin, 44, of Hilo, died Aug. 9, 2016, at his residence. Born Sept. 28, 1971, in Hilo, he was a cook at various restaurants on the Big Island.
Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Aug. 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.
He is survived by companion, Melissa Bigsby of Hawaiian Beaches; son, Micah Martin-Nahoopii of Oahu; mother, Beatrice Martin of Hilo; sister, Laurie (Russell Mattos) Martin of Waimea; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
