Advanced Ukulele is every Tuesday from 9:30-11 a.m. with Aunty Marjie Spencer. Join other experienced players of all ages to learn more about the ukulele through friendship and song. Bring your own ukulele; iPAD or laptop, with FourScore or Unreal Book “app” installed to share songs.
Knitting &Knitting Support is every Tuesday from 12:30—3 p.m. with Gretchen Geisler, lifetime knitter, pattern designer and fiber artist. The class is for ages 10 to adult and all skill levels. Bring projects, get knitting questions answered and visit with other knitters. Beginners will be guided into a suitable project.
Anuenue II (Double Rainbow) Community Playground Rebuild Update will be held on Aug. 23 from 3:30—4:30 p.m. with Michele Chavez-Pardini, Michele Sullivan, Vicki Missien, Mimi Kerley and Jennifer Buddenhagen. Since 1992, Anuenue Playground has provided play and physical challenge for children of residents and visitors alike. With an updated design, and in adherence to county codes and ADA compliance requirements, a small dedicated team has created a volunteer community rebuild project to save this Waimea landmark. More coordinators and volunteers are needed. Learn more about the progress and consider how you can get involved at this meeting. Hands-on craft activities will be provided to keep keiki busy while adults are in discussion.
Mama Fit Club for Women is every Wednesday from 9—10 a.m. with Ranya, Kate, Ilene and Krish. The fun video workout is appropriate for all levels of fitness, whether preparing the body for pregnancy or trying to get it back afterwards. Keiki will be able to play throughout and the class is also open to women without children. Wear comfortable clothes and exercise shoes. Bring water, a towel, yoga mat and lightweights or resistance bands if you have them.
Overeaters Anonymous is every Friday from 11:30 a.m.—12:30 p.m. The fellowship of individuals, through shared experience, strength and hope, are recovering from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors. There are no dues or fees and OA welcomes anyone who wishes to stop eating compulsively. Through the support and tools of OA, many have recovered from yo-yo dieting, binging and sugar addiction, to name a few.
