Julie Hoohuli
Julie Kaanoiikealaonapua Hoohuli, 40, of Kailua-Kona June 21, 2016, at Straub Clinic. Born April 20, 1976. in Kealakekua, she was a laundry attendant at Tyke’s Laundromat and Laundry Two. She was a member of National Horseshoe Pitchers Association and a hula dancer with Na Pua Haaheo O Kona Hula Halau.
A celebration of life will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Kona Imin Center in Holualoa. The family requests casual attire worn and flowers are welcome.
She is survived by brothers, Calvin (Loke) Hoohuli of Holualoa, Melvin (Kristie) Hoohuli and Bulla (Davelyn) Villanueva, all of Kealakehe, Makaio Abraham and David (Tanya) Haleamanu, all of Kalaoa; sisters, Linda (Bruce) Aipia of Ocean View, Kuulei (Jim) Hoohuli of Kealakehe, Kiana (John) Lowe of Oahu, Nalani Spencer of Pahoehoe, Collette (Chad) Debina of Kalaoa; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Shellie Amano
Shellie Akiko Amano, 43, of Kealakekua died on July 27, 2016, at the Regency at Hualalai. Born Oct. 20, 1972, in Kealakekua, she was an Army veteran, an instructor at Hawaii Pacific and Phoenix Universities, a financial officer for an advertising company and a doctor of chiropractic services. She was also a Rotarian.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 20 at Lifewater Church (formerly Central Kona Union Church) in Kealakekua for a 10 a.m. memorial service. The family requests casual attire.
She is survived by son, Kawika of Kealakekua; mother, Glenna Bell and stepfather, Charlie Bell of Kealakekua; maternal grandmother, Chiyono Kobayashi of Kainaliu; several aunts and uncles; numerous cousins.

PeggyAnn Keola “Anna” Gravela, 68, of Naalehu died Aug. 1, 2016, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Oct. 10, 1947, in Honolulu, she retired as a cake decorator for Safeway in Kona.

Bonnie Howard
Bonnie June Howard, 73, of Hilo died Aug. 8, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Aug. 27, 1942, in Anthony, Kansas, she was a homemaker, worked for the Sitkans Against Family Violence, was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 1350, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1662, Hilo Women’s Club, and Alaskan Native Sisterhood.

She is survived by spouse, Louis Howard Sr. of Hilo; son, Louis (Marla) Howard Jr. of Eagle River, Alaska; daughters, Mary (Rick) Henley of Roanoke, Va., Barbara Scott of Ferrum, Va., Veronica Reynolds of Klamath Falls, Ore., Janet (Dan) Evans of Sitka or Alaska, and Linda Schauwecker of Juneau, Alaska; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
