No tsunami was triggered by a magnitude-7.6 earthquake that struck Thursday afternoon southeast of the Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said.

The temblor was recorded at 3:27 p.m. southeast of Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia, which are located more than 3,000 miles southwest of Hawaii. It had a registered depth of 6 miles.

Based on all available data, there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii, the center said.
