Lynn Guthrie-Dalao
Lynn Yvette Guthrie-Dalao, 75, of Hilo died July 31, 2016, at the North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in San Pedro, Calif., she was a homemaker, a missionary and a cook.

She is survived by husband, Allan Dalao of Hilo; son, Michael Guthrie of Seattle; daughters, Mariana Reyes of Seattle, Jacqui (Tony) Meadows, Deanne Farmer, both of of Hendersonville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Scott Smith
Scott Takeo Smith, 55, of Hilo died Aug. 4, 2016. He was a maintenance worker for Pacific University College.

Mildred Akamine
Mildred Teruko “Tetchan” “Aunty Milly” Akamine, 85, of Piihonua died July 18, 2016, at her residence. Born Dec. 1, 1930, she was the co-owner of the former Dennis Place Restaurant in Hilo. She was retired from Sodexo Corporation and the University of Hawaii at Hilo cafeteria and was a member of the Piihonua Community Association (Kumiai).
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Aug. 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial will follow at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No 2 in Hilo. Casual attire is requested.
She is survived by son, Dennis Akamine of Hilo; daughters, Joni (Ralph) Tokuuke, Thelma (Myron) Iwasaki , both of Hilo and Patricia Oku of Tokyo; brothers, Herbert (Madeline) Yamada of Kealakekua, Harvey (June) Yamada of Hilo; five grandchildren; an aunt, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Seiso Kamimura
Seiso Kamimura, 92, of Mountain View died July 24, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo- Pohai Malama Care Center. Born on Jan. 19, 1924, in Mountain View, he retired as a State Parks Superintendent for the state of Hawaii.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Aug. 16 at Ballard Family Mortuary- Hilo for a 5 p.m. service.
He is survived by wife, Mitoyo Kamimura; sons, Russell (Shirley Ann) Kamimura of Mililani, Oahu, Garret (Patricia) Kamimura of Burlington, Wash., David (Joyce) Kamimura of Pearl City, Oahu, Wesley (Jan) Kamimura of Mountain View; brother, Frederick Kamimura of Honolulu; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

David Arthur Thompson, 68, of Kurtistown died July 24, 2016. Born Nov. 25, 1947, in Muskegon, Mich., he was an insurance agent and an auto mechanic.
