Richard Harrison
Richard Miller Harrison, 77, of Kailua-Kona died July 21, 2016, at his residence. Born April 8, 1939, in Pineville, Ky., he was a retired director and research scientist at the Tulane National Primate Center and associate professor of physiology at the Tulane School of Medicine. He was also a 2011-12 recipient of Cambridge and Stanford Universities Who’s Who.
Friends may call at 10 a.m. Aug 13 at New Hope Legacy Church for a celebration of life. A potluck luncheon will follow at the family residence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to any Alzheimers Association. Info: 326-9676.
He is survived by wife, Judy Harrison of Kailua-Kona; sons, Brian Harrison of Metairie, La., Greg Harrison of Rockville, Md,; hanai daughter, Shari (Scott) Lindenberg of Kailua-Kona, stepsons, Michael Brown of Pahrump, Nev., Scott Brown of Ramona, Calif,, Ron Brown of Henderson, Nev.; sister, Marilyn (Carl) Holland of Champagne, Ill.; four grandchildren.

Camren Kaanoi Ikaikamaikalani Hemakanaleipunahele Pajimola Kupihe, 25, of Kealakekua died June 16, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. He was born on Feb. 11, 1991 in Hilo.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 7 at Hale Halawai. A service is scheduled at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow. Condolences may be sent to the Pajimola Kupihe family at P.O. Box 1662, Kealakekua, HI 96750.

Judith Kirkendall
Judith Lee Midgley Kirkendall, PhD, 84, of Hilo died July 25, 2016, at her residence. Born Aug. 4, 1931, in Salt Lake City, Utah, she was a dean at U-H Hilo, managed the Peace Corps’ resources in exotic languages and was staff for volunteers teaching abroad and a Big Island training officer. She founded the International Institute and Language Bank, wrote “Hawaiian Ethnogastronomy” and was awarded Woman of the Year.

Royden Seichi Imade, 61, of Mountain View died June 14, 2016, at home. Born Feb. 17, 1955, in Hilo, he was a factory worker at Maebo Noodle Factory Inc.
