HILO — Justin Bieber has found a vacation pad that suits his party animal reputation — and it’s here in East Hawaii.
Reported sightings of “The Biebs” in Hilo have been circulating since the weekend, including at Rainbow Falls and Four-Mile beach in Keaukaha. And the celebrity-gossip website TMZ confirmed the pop star is renting the Water Falling Estate in Ninole for a two-week stay at $10,000 a night. Yes, that’s a $140,000 tab for rent alone.
The Internet has been blowing up the past couple of days, with Bieber himself posting Instagram photos of his fun in the sun, water — and, of course, with wahines.
As for the cliffside concrete crib where he’s playing with his pals, Scott Watson, the Big Island developer who built the sprawling structure called it “the ultimate playground for the rich and famous” in a 2014 interview. And Bieber, the 22-year-old Canadian who was barely a teen when he released his first album, “My World” in 2009, fits the bill perfectly. Celebritynetworth.com estimates he’s worth a cool $225 million.
The estate, which sold for $5.7 million at a 2014 auction, has amenities like a 450-seat tennis/basketball stadium, a 250-million-gallon Olympic infinity pool with a high dive and two-story water slide, and a nine-tee pitch-and-putt green with multiple holes that provide various par-3 and par-4 play combinations.
The home itself has five bedrooms — including two identical master bedrooms on the top floor — 10 bathrooms, a four-car garage, a game room, media area, wet bar and chef’s kitchen.
And Bieber, who reportedly has hired a helicopter and pilot to see the sights in style, doesn’t have to take a limo ride from the airport up the Hamakua Coast. The mansion has a pair of rooftop helipads for a top-of-the-charts happy landing.
