KAILUA-KONA — The Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation has asked the public to weigh in on requests from commercial operators at the Keauhou Small Boat Harbor regarding the installation of commercial signs.
Six commercial operators are moored in Keauhou Bay and one has submitted a request to DOBOR’s Hawaii district office to install a sign to identify and make their business more accessible to consumers, according to the department.
If DOBOR grants permission to the applicant then the other five operators would be extended the same rights, as the small boat harbor is a public facility and all operators must be treated the equitably, the department said.
DOBOR is requesting suggestions on locations for signs and sign boards, and welcomes any other public input.
