Hawaii’s campaign aims to heighten awareness with the ultimate goal of saving lives and making Hawaii a safer place to walk.

McDonald’s restaurants in Hawaii join forces with the Department of Transportation’s Walk Wise Hawaii to educate customers on the importance of staying visible while walking in the early morning or evening hours, when most pedestrian related crashes occur. Wearable flashing lights were distributed to customers. Kupuna who take the Walk Wise Hawaii Pledge to follow seven pedestrian tips for kupuna will receive a coupon for a free coffee or tea at any Hawaii McDonalds. Senior groups are encouraged to sign up for a free group presentation.
