Ted Leaf was honored on July 21 as he transitioned from active member to retired member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Kona Flotilla 13. The retirement ceremony was held at the West Hawaii Civic Center, Mayor’s Conference Room. In addition to a certificate, Leaf received an auxiliary lapel pin and identification card denoting his retired status.

While volunteering in the auxiliary and assisting the United States Coast Guard, Leaf participated as boat crew on numerous patrols on the flotilla vessel. In addition, he gained expertise in auxiliary operations in the areas of navigation, communications and weather.
