Kona Oceanfront Gallery hosts its largest art exhibition of the year featuring more than 30 Big Island artists today and Saturday.

Each year, the gallery opens its doors to guest Big Island artists (established and up-and-coming) to participate in the weekend exhibition. The local artists will showcase their latest creations, sign autographs, talk story and pose for photographs from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the gallery located in Waterfront Row in Kailua-Kona.

Participating artists include: Alex Gupton, Bea Israel, Brad “Tiki Shark” Parker, Christian LaCuesta, Christopher Lundy, Diane Renchler, Doug Perrine, Eddie Johns and Joe Cook, Esther Szegedy, Genevieve Goalen, Jennifer Machall, Karen Ellison, Kira Kamamalu, Leilani Pacheco-Datta, Lynn Vanleeuwen, Matthew Lovein, Michael Schloffel, Michael Zack, Parker and Debbie Nicholson, Rockwood, Ronnie Barbola, Rose Adare, Rosie Marte, Scott Hanson, Shelley Hoist, Shelly Maudsley-White, Trent Long, Tom Pendergrass, Vickie Penny-Rohner, William Wingert and Zoe Johnson.

This year’s show marks the seventh year the gallery has put on the event, which also gives the public a chance to vote for their favorite piece of artwork.

Public voting via secret ballot opens today and continues Saturday until 8 p.m. The top eight vote-getters will receive award ribbons; winners will be announced about 8:30 p.m. Saturday. All voters will be entered into a raffle to win artwork.

During the Saturday event, the gallery will offer a wine tasting along with other refreshments and pupu, as well as fun for the whole family.

Kona Oceanfront Gallery is located at 75-5770 Alii Drive at Waterfront Row in Kailua-Kona. It was formerly known as the Wyland Kona Gallery.
