A 56-year-old Puna man was arrested Tuesday after calling a community association employee’s home and threatening to take a shotgun to a future meeting and shoot everyone present.
A 56-year-old Puna man was arrested Tuesday after calling a community association employee’s home and threatening to take a shotgun to a future meeting and shoot everyone present.
James Bret Jones, of Glenwood, was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Tuesday, about an hour after the incident was reported, according to the Hawaii Police Department. Officers spotted his vehicle parked near mile marker 20 on Highway 11.
Jones was charged later Tuesday with second-degree terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $2,000. After posting bail, he was released from custody pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Aug. 25.
