Free mosquito traps distributed in Ocean View

Free mosquito traps distributed in Ocean View

Free mosquito traps and refills will be distributed to qualifying Ocean View residents beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ocean View Community Center.

Participants in this pilot program will receive four to five traps per household. The Trap N Kill mosquito traps normally retail at Home Depot for $8 each.

Recipients must be low-income and be willing to occasionally monitor the traps through a 20-week time period. After the first 10 weeks, participants will confirm via email or online that they have serviced their traps with the refills provided. Traps will be distributed on a first-come, first served basis. Supply is limited.

Tuesday’s meeting will also include an educational presentation about mosquito abatement methods. Free information packets will also be given out.
