Annie Stephens
Annie Carol Stephens, 83, of Kealakekua died June 23, 2016. Born Jan. 2, 1933, in Waianae, Oahu, she worked in food service.
Friends may call at 12:30 p.m. July 1 at St. Michaels Catholic Church for a 2:30 p.m. funeral service. A reception will follow. Condolences may be posted at ballardfamilymortuaries.com.
She is survived by daughters, Sheila (Andrew) Cantiberos of Kailua-Kona, Sharon Martines of Kailua-Kona, Sherry (Jeffery) Stephens of Kealakekua; son, William (Diane) Stephens III of Agana Heights, Guam; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Winthrop Okimoto
Winthrop Tetsuo Okimoto, 67, of Naalehu died May 17, 2016, at Ka’u Hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1949, in Pahala, he was a retired auditor for HFS Federal Credit Union.

He is survived by brothers, Clifford (Angie) Okimoto of Naalehu, Alban Okimoto of Hilo; a nephew, a niece, and five grandnieces.

Dayle Orr
Dayle Rosell Orr, 84, of Kailua-Kona, died June 25, 2016, at his residence. Born March 13, 1932, in Lynch, Neb., he retired from Farmers Insurance in Issaquah, Wash., a retired Washington state police officer and firefighter for Boeing Aircraft Co. Fire Department. He also was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during the Korean War.
Private service held. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745.
He is survived by wife, Carol Orr of Kailua-Kona; sons, Dayle (Rosie) Orr of Keauhou, Gene (Becky Edmiston) Orr of Anderson Island, Wash.; stepsister, Karen (Harris) Watson of Allyn, Wash.; four grandchildren, an aunt, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Toshiko Sumitani
Toshiko Sumitani, 101, of Kaneohe, Oahu, formerly of Hilo died June 18, 2016, in Kuakini Geriatric Care Inc. Born in Waiakea Camp 6, Hilo, she was a retired seamstress.
She is survived by daughter, Rena (Peter) Pappalardo of Kaneohe, Oahu; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank and Walter Yoshimura, both of Pearl City, Oahu.

Derek Pacheco
Derek Dwight Pacheco, 63, of Hilo died June 17, 2016, at the Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born Dec. 30, 1952, in Hilo, he retired from the Hawaii County Police Department as the assistant chief of police and commander of the department’s special response team. He was also a Hawaii Isle Police Activities League (HI-PAL) Coach, Hilo High School Girls Junior Varsity Coach, Kaumana Twins Baseball Coach, Positive Alternative Gang Education (P.A.G.E.) Volleyball Coach, Nalu Girls Volleyball Coach, and member of the Hilo Yacht Club and Life is Good Golf Club.
Private services will be held.
He is survived by wife, Sheri Pacheco of Hilo; sons, Derek Pacheco of Hilo, Bobby Correa-Midel of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughters, Sheral Correa-Pacheco of Hilo, Charisse Correa of Hilo, Taryn (Dennis) Agmata of Lahaina, Maui, and Erica (Michael) Agmata of Las Vegas; mother, Irene Betty Pacheco of Hilo; sisters, Arlene Gali of Hilo and Donna (Tom) Tanimura of Manoa; seven grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
